By way of introduction

In this compilation you may find essays, commentaries, poetry, recommendations, reminiscences, and other writings by Ed Barna, poetry name E. RL. Barna (which unlike my official middle name honors the contributions of both my mother and father, for 30 years a Vermont journalist as well as being a serious poet since 1971. I was born in Middlebury, Vermont in 1947 while my father was studying languages at Middlebury College on the G. I. Bill; grew up in Brandon, Vermont, graduating from Otter Valley Union High School in 1966 (my parents were both teachers at Brandon High School then OVUHS); graduated from Harvard College in 1970; married in 1971; was caretaker then state park manager at Robert Frost Farm in Derry, New Hampshire between 1971 and 1977; moved back to Brandon in 1977 to take over the family place and start a family; then moved to my second wife’s home in Middlebury in 2001.
